Raindrop Massage Technique

What is Raindrop Massage?

The Raindrop Technique® is a unique practice based on methods that have been used for centuries to rejuvenate the body and mind. The Raindrop Technique helps bring balance and harmony to the body by combining targeted massage and distinctive energy approaches. It also includes pure, therapeutic-grade essential oils to create an atmosphere of spirituality and serenity.

Raindrop Therapy combines aromatherapy, reflexology, and more to create a healing and cleansing massage. Raindrop technique is known for improving mental, physical, and emotional aspects of your life. The premise behind this massage therapy is that the use of specific antimicrobial oils applied in a particular sequence with various techniques will reduce the body’s inflammations and destroy any viral presence.

Raindrop boosts your immune system, and the oils travel to where they are needed. For more information on how this is possible, watch this video featuring Suzette Skidmore from Healing Solutions Inc:

Discovered through the research of D. Gary Young in the 1980s, Raindrop Therapy focuses on the application of a number of specific essential oils to various parts of the body through a combination of different techniques that are explained in the video above. What makes Raindrop Technique absolutely unique is the application of healing essential oils to the body.

What Are the Principal Oils Used in Raindrop Therapy, and what do they do?

There are 9 oils used during a Raindrop Massage. They are applied in specific order to gain maximum results.

Seven Single Oils

  • Thyme

  • Basil

  • Peppermint

  • Oregano

  • Wintergreen

  • Cypress

  • Marjoram

Two Oil Blends

  • Valor®

  • Aroma Siez™

Oregano

Oregano is a small, bushy plant that belongs to the mint family. You have probably used it in your culinary exploits, as it is a popular herb. To make the oils, Oregano leaves and stems are dried and then steam distilled to extract as many helpful compounds as possible from the plant.

Like Thyme, Oregano has the compounds, carvacrol and thymol. Oregano, reacting in a more aggressive manner than thyme, performs in much the same way in that it helps to stimulate the body’s immune system and balance the metabolism of the body. Moreover, its use should strengthen the vitality of the body. The following benefits can be seen from using Oregano essential oils:

  1. Fights bacteria

  2. Treating Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth (SIBO)

  3. Treating fungal infections (Athlete’s Foot, Oral Thrush, Fingernail Infections)

  4. Providing antioxidants

  5. Reducing Inflammation

  6. Healing Wounds

  7. Repelling Insects

  8. Relieving Pain

  9. Aiding Weight Loss

  10. Helping to Fight Cancer

Thyme

Thyme essential oil is extracted from the leaf of the Thyme plant. Thyme is often used for its antiseptic properties. It is considered beneficial in reducing and eliminating bacteria that is present in the body, which is why it is often used as a preservative in foods or as an ingredient in mouthwash.

Thyme is also thought to be helpful in reducing the effects of fatigue and stress by supplying energy to the body. Thyme helps eliminate foodborne bacteria, supports heart health, and lowers inflammation in the body.

There are several compounds within Thyme that contribute to its ability to help us. These compounds include carvacrol, thymol, linalool, cineal, camphor, and borneol. Due to the presence of these compounds, Thyme is able to help with the following conditions:

  1. Acne

  2. Alopecia

  3. Breast Cancer

  4. Coughs and Respiratory Infections

  5. Preserving Food

Oregano and Thyme, together, are known as ‘Gladiator Oils’. They can burn when applied to the skin, and are known for their heat. It is best to let your Massage Therapist know immediately if these oils begin to burn so that they can dilute them with carrier oils! These oils are meant to be warmer and will aid in cleaning toxins from your body, but you should not be in pain.

Basil

Basil is used to relax the muscles, including those of the digestive system and heart. Plus, its use is thought to stimulate the sense of smell and reduce mental fatigue. Applied topically, basil can be used to soothe insect bites. It is also a great oil to use for arthritis pain, respiratory issues, and joint pain.

This is a great way to reward yourself, or anyone you might know. We recommend the Raindrop Technique for anyone, really, but especially for teachers going back to school, people who are about to travel, anyone who is entering cold or flu season, or anyone who may just want an immunity boost.

Raindrop Technique is also great if you would like to detox, and this is a recommended technique if you are doing a cleanse. Just remember, your skin is your biggest organ, and you will see the results of a detox on your skin! Talk to your massage therapist about this if you are concerned about what it may look like. One example, if you are a heavy soda drinker, you may see red spots appear on your skin. This is a result of soda detox.

Individuals who are giving or receiving raindrop therapy should go into the experience with a positive outlook. All negativity should be dispelled prior to entering this massage therapy experience.

Be aware that you may leave the experience either fully and completely relaxed or fully and completely energized. The Raindrop Technique has different effects on different people. The oils go where you need them and assist you in the ways that your body needs. We urge you to try it if you never have! You won’t regret having this amazing experience.
